The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) inaugurated its dynamic national pavilion at the 32nd Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event, themed “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity,” serves as a premier platform for fostering international tourism partnerships.
The opening ceremony was graced by H.H Sheik Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum Chairman & Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and Group together with Alexi Gunasekera, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Dubai, and Sampath Nissanka, Managing Director of SLTPB. They were joined by officials from the SLTPB, the Sri Lanka Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Consulate General in Dubai.
This year, the Sri Lanka pavilion featured over 70 participants from the travel and tourism industry, marking the country’s most extensive representation at ATM to date. The pavilion showcased Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, pristine beaches, stunning landscapes, and abundant wildlife, capturing the attention of international visitors and industry professionals alike.
Recognizing the Middle East as a pivotal market, SLTPB has intensified its promotional efforts in the region. Prior to ATM, successful B2B networking events were conducted in Riyadh and Dammam, facilitating collaborations between Sri Lankan tourism stakeholders and Saudi counterparts. These initiatives align with Sri Lanka’s strategic focus on attracting high-end tourists, particularly from Middle Eastern countries, aiming to boost tourism revenue and foster sustainable growth.
Further emphasizing its commitment, the press conference organized by SLTPB during ATM inviting over 70 media representatives will give a clear message that Sri Lanka is a great destination for Middle Eastern travelers which is strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and visitor experiences.
These concerted efforts underscore Sri Lanka Tourism’s dedication to strengthening its presence in the Middle Eastern market and fostering sustainable growth through enhanced international partnerships.
