SLAAR’s 31st AGM: Fostering Collaboration and Industry Excellence

The 31st Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Association of Airline Representatives (SLAAR) recently took place at The Colombo Hilton Residences. SLAAR comprises Passenger and Cargo General Sales Agents representing both online and offline foreign airlines operating in Sri Lanka. The association is dedicated to supporting its members and the broader industry, focusing on driving industry standards, continuous improvement, collaboration, resource sharing, and community responsibility.

The meeting saw strong member attendance, with Chalaka Gajabahu, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, serving as the Chief Guest. Rayhan Wanniappa, Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, and Thisum Jayasuriya, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, were guests of honor.

Gajabahu shared the success story of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Board in positioning the country in key markets. He encouraged member companies to continue their vital contributions as stakeholders in the tourism ecosystem, supporting the industry’s growth.

Newly elected Chairman Dumindu Amarathunge emphasized his commitment to enhancing industry standards and practices through training and development programs. He also highlighted the importance of initiatives that benefit communities and the environment. Amarathunge pledged to foster strong public relations as the association continues its close collaboration with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and the public.
